Intercleaner is mounted behind the front bumper beneath the air conditioning condenser. To remove Type 1 engines, start with the front bumper and the absorber, the next step is to unscrew the three nuts on each side to detach the bumper brace. It is possible to remove the air guide located right-hand side by pulling out the two plastic expanding rivets. Relax the retaining clips and remove the air inlet and outlet hoses from the intercooler. Last of all, draw the front of the intercooler up as they can be removed from the condenser bracket and other lower anchoring tabs. For Type 2 engines, beginning with the removal of the front bumper and then, in order, undo the bolts going down to the bonnet lock platform and remove the expansion tank as well as the combination lights. Then, locate the horn bracket and bonnet lock and pull the release cable to unlock it and undo any Holden accessory. Remove the upper plastic expanding rivets connecting the air guides to the bonnet lock platform on both sides, lift the bonnet, and take out the bonnet support twig. Remove the wiring connector of the bonnet closure switch, loosen the two bolts on either side of the switch then remove the bonnet lock platform. Disconnect the air inlet hose and duct followed by detaching the intercooler and pulling it out from it position. To refit the equipment, follow the same process in reverse and ensure all ab connections are properly connected.
