To remove the oil pan, first disconnect the battery negative lead. Jack up the front of the vehicle and securely support it on axle stands, then remove the right-hand front roadwheel. Drain the engine oil and refit the drain plug with a new washer. Remove the right-hand front wheel arch liner, then take off the rear lower engine mounting and its bracket from the oil pan. Unbolt the right-hand driveshaft support bearing from the cylinder block and oil pan, and undo the air conditioning compressor bracket lower mounting bolt. Disconnect the wiring connector and unscrew the oil level sensor from the alloy oil pan housing, and withdraw the oil level dipstick if not already done. Unclip the fuel rail drain/overflow tube from the oil pan and move it aside. Slacken and remove the four bolts securing the oil pan to the transmission housing, then progressively slacken the remaining bolts in reverse order of tightening and remove all oil pan retaining bolts. Tap the oil pan with a hide or plastic mallet to break the joint, then remove it, recovering and discarding the gasket. Clean the mating surfaces of the oil pan and cylinder block, then apply sealant to the crankshaft end bearing caps and the right-hand end of the cylinder block. Locate a new gasket on the oil pan, lift it into position, and align it with the cylinder block. Insert the bolts and tighten them to the specified torque, then reattach the four remaining bolts from the oil pan to the transmission. Refit the oil level sensor and clip the fuel drain/overflow pipe back in place, followed by the engine rear lower mounting. Reattach the right-hand driveshaft support bearing and tighten the bolts, then secure the air conditioning compressor bracket lower mounting bolt. Refit the right-hand front wheel arch liner and roadwheel, lower the car, and tighten the wheel nuts. Reconnect the battery negative lead and fill the engine with fresh oil, waiting at least 30 minutes after fitting the oil pan before refilling. Start the engine, warm it up, and check for any leaks from the oil pan area.
