The Nissan Juke Shift Cable enables the driver to shift the cabin gear lever, causing the transmission to instantly respond with the right range or ratio. The cable connects the selector handle to levers located on the transaxle. This cable ensures that any movement of the driver's hand generates a precise push or pull on the internal shift rails. Thus, every click into park, drive, or one of the manual gears occurs cleanly and without free play. When cars had a manual gearbox, there were two Shift Cables installed in the engine compartment, one for fore-aft movement and the other for side-to-side motion. This enabled the geometry to give the familiar H-pattern shift feel. With a right hand drive auto, it only applied one robust Shift Cable. - Q: How to remove the shift cable from the gear lever housing on Nissan Juke?A:To remove gear lever housing, start by removing the centre console. Next, you need to disconnect the two cable ends from the shift selector levers. Press the tabs located at the top and pull out outer cables from this gear lever housing. Undo four mounting bolts and pull out housing assembly. Remove shift cables from gear lever housing assembly. In order to reach, it is advised that you first of all remove battery and battery tray as well as if necessary air cleaner assembly. Cable ends are disconnected from ball joints on transmission selector levers. Pull off outer cables, after depressing upper tabs, from transmission mounting bracket. Put on handbrake, lift up front of vehicle and take off heat shield from under center tunnel.
