To loose the wheel lug nuts, raise the front of the vehicle and securely support it on jackstands, then take off the wheels. Remove the under-vehicle splash shield. Take out the tie-rod end from the tie-rod. Get rid of the tie-rod end jam nut. With a pair of pliers, remove the outer boot clamp before cutting off and throwing away the inner boot clamp. The outer clamp on the Rack And Pinion Boot can be squeezed and removed with a pair of pliers; the Inner clamp must be cut off. Remove the boot. Put a new clamp on its inner end. Apply multi-purpose grease to groove on tie rod where outward end of boot will ride. Slide new boot onto steering gear housing over tie rod ensuring that it isn't twisted and then tighten inner clamp. Reinstall outer Clamp & Tie-Rod End Jam Nut.' Install Tie-Rod Ends.' Install Steering Gear Assembly.' Finally, check for proper front-end alignment and adjust as necessary.
