How to remove and install the hood cable and hood latch on the Nissan Rogue?

To remove the latch, first, take off the radiator grille. Scribe a line around the latch for alignment during installation, then remove the latch retaining bolts and disengage the cable end by prying out the cable retainer from the rear of the hood latch assembly. Disconnect the hood release cable by disengaging it from the latch assembly. For installation, reverse the removal process, ensuring the latch is adjusted so the hood engages securely when closed and the hood bumpers are slightly compressed. To disconnect the hood release cable, first, remove the radiator grille and the left inner fender liner. Detach the cable from the clips along its length, then release the end of the cable from the hood release handle and snap the cable housing from its retainer. Pull the cable grommet into the passenger compartment and then pull the cable through the hole, taking care not to kink it. For installation, reverse the removal steps, pushing on the grommet from the passenger compartment to seat it correctly in the firewall and using sealant around the grommet.
