Loosen the front wheel lug nuts, raise the front of the vehicle, support it securely on jackstands, and remove the wheels. Separate the intermediate shaft from the steering gear shaft. Detach the sway bar kit links from the strut. Disconnect the tie-rod ends from the
Steering Knuckles. If working on a 2014 or later model (except Rogue Select models), remove the front exhaust mount and the exhaust manifold/catalytic converter assembly. Remove the torque rod. Support the rear of the subframe with a floor jack, remove the subframe stay bolts, remove the stay, loosen the subframe mounting bolts, and slowly lower the jack just enough to access the sway bar kit bracket bolts towards the rear of the subframe. Remove the sway bar kit clamps and bushings, then remove the sway bar kit. Inspect the clamp bushings and the link bushings; if they are cracked or torn, replace them. When installing new bushings, ensure the slit in the bushings faces the front of the vehicle and install the clamps in their original positions. Installation is the reverse of removal, tightening all suspension and steering fasteners to the specified torque values and tightening the wheel lug nuts to the appropriate torque.
