To have access to the control arm the following steps are taken; first loosen the front wheel lug nuts then lift the front part of the car using a jack then put on a support then remove the wheel. Then, remove the nuts from the stabilizer bar and the link and then re-fasten the link to the stabilizer bar. Loosen nut or bolt of the balljoint to the
Steering Knuckle either use pintle screw to detach or unscrew to provide separation of both control arm balljoint and steering knuckle. Next to that, unscrew the fasteners holding the control arm and then withdraw the arm from the subframe. During inspection, the front and rear bushings, check for cracks or tears; if they are, damaged, or worn, the control arm has to be replaced since the bushings are fixed and cannot be replaced individually. Also, the straight quality of the control arm has to be checked; if it is twisted then it has to be replaced and should not be realigned. When installing the assembly, it must be done, again, in reverse and all fasteners should be tightened, at least to the required torque. Last of all, replace the wheel and the lug nuts, place the car back on the ground and fasten the lug nuts to the recommended torque, and depending on the situation it is recommended to check and adjust the front wheel alignment if needed.
