How do you replace the latch and cable on Nissan Versa?

To replace the latch, first remove the radiator grille, then scribe a line around the latch for alignment, and take out the latch retaining bolts to remove the latch. Disconnect the hood release cable by prying out the cable retainer from the rear of the latch assembly and disengaging the cable. For installation, reverse the removal process, ensuring the latch is adjusted so the hood engages securely when closed and the hood bumpers are slightly compressed. To replace the cable, disconnect it from the latch assembly, remove the left inner fender well liner, detach the cable from the clips along its length, and take out the inside hood release handle to disconnect the cable. Pull the cable grommet into the passenger compartment and then pull the cable through the hole. For installation, reverse the removal process, making sure to push on the grommet with your fingers from the passenger compartment to seat it correctly in the firewall.
