How do you remove and install the steering gear on Nissan Versa?

To dismantle the rack and pinion, first align the wheels of the vehicle to the straight position and then take off the subframe. Then, remove the fasteners for the mounting of the rack and pinion to front suspension cross member. For installation, it is recommended that the rack and pinion is midship from left to right and the surface of mounting on the body side of the firewall seal should be clean with no single defect. The next step is to loosely fit the bolts and then tighten them to the designed torque, then fits the rack and pinion/subframe assembly. Last but not least, fit the wheels and the lug nuts, drop the car and equally tighten the lug nuts to the desired torque.
