- Q: How to remove and install the grille on a Nissan Xterra?A:Check beneath the hood and remove front side marker/turn signal light housing(s); on Nissan Pathfinder 1998 and older models, take off the screws that are used to secure the grille on the front side marker/turn signal light openings; use a screwdriver to rotate the grille retaining clips through an angle of 45 degrees either way; simultaneously, pull outwards at the grille whilst releasing it with a screwdriver; usually, there are four retaining clips on most models; but note that from 2001, for instance in some Frontier models, where there is an integral grille installed as part of the front bumper fascia. Pull forward on the grille to disengage it from the body and remove the grille carefully. Remove these clips from radiator support and put them back into place in the grille. To fix into position, place it in place aligning it with mating holes of radiator support then press gently until its clips gets stuck on radiator support.
