    Q:
How to remove and install the front Sway Bar Kit and its components on Nissan Maxima? Posted by Customer
    A:
Loosen the wheel lug nuts, raise the front of the vehicle, support it securely on jack stands, and remove the wheels. If necessary for access, remove the front exhaust pipe, rear engine mount insulator, and power steering pump. Remove the two pin stay brackets located at each rear corner of the cross member, then lower the rear of the cross member just enough to allow access to the sway bar kit mounting clamps. Disconnect the sway bar kit links from both control arms; for 1993 and 1994 models, remove the nut indicated by the lower arrow to disconnect the link from the control arm and the upper nut to detach it from the sway bar kit. For 1995 and later models, follow the same procedure. Remove both sway bar kit clamps; for 1993 or 1994 models, take out the bushing clamp nuts and bolts from both sides, and for 1995 and later models, remove the bolts without unscrewing the welded nuts. Remove the sway bar kit assembly and inspect the clamp bushings and link bushings, replacing them if they are cracked or torn. Installation is the reverse of removal, ensuring that the slits in the clamp bushings face forward, checking for R (right) or L (left) marks on the clamps, and noting that some models have open forward-facing bolt holes and circular rearward-facing bolt holes. Finally, tighten all fasteners to the specified torque.

    Q:
How to remove and inspect the rear Sway Bar Kit on a Nissan Maxima? Posted by Customer
    A:
Loosen the rear wheel lug nuts, raise the rear of the vehicle, support it securely on jack stands, and remove the wheels. For 1993 and 1994 models, remove the bolts that attach the sway bar kit to the trailing arm brackets and then take off the bushing clamp nuts to remove the sway bar kit. In 2004 models, remove the nuts securing the links to the sway bar kit, unbolt the clamps that secure the center of the sway bar kit to the vehicle, and take it out. Inspect all clamp bushings for cracks or tears and replace them if necessary. For 2004 models, check the ball-joint ends of the links for wear and damage, replacing the links if any issues are found. Installation follows the reverse order of removal, ensuring that the ball-joint ends of the links are not cocked sideways and tightening all fasteners to the specified torques.
