Pop the bonnet and unplug the electrical terminal located at the base of the electrical housing at the headlight. Twist anti-clockwise for the headlight bulb holder to be released and then pulled off. Pull the bulb assembly out of the headlight housing and then to remove the bulb from the bulb holder, pull it in line with the bulb socket. Avoid contact of bare hands with the glass and then install the new bulb to the socket assembly SECURING THE BULB HOLDER Opening the tabs of the headlight housing on the bulb holder and turn the bulb holder clockwise till it rests in its position. Pop in the retaining ring and electrical connector and check the headlight function.

To change the front side marker/turn signal lights, unscrew it and pull the turn signal and side marker light housing off of the fender. Twist the bulb socket out of its housing and push the bulb in. For the tail and back-up lights, open the tailgate on Frontier models or remove the bolts on Xterra and Pathfinder models to pull out taillight housing from bed side or body. With draw bulb socket from its housing and replace a light source. In order to replace license plate light, remove screws securing housing to bumper for Frontier models; snap it off for Xterra models, while lift up screws will help you detach it from bumper on Pathfinder models. Simply pull out lamp straightly from socket to change it. To switch instrument cluster illumination lights, detach instrument cluster then twist counterclockwise bulb holder for removing it. For interior lights just pry map lights or dome light lenses off and change their bulbs. Regarding fog lights remove grille that covers lower part of bumper as well as relevant mounting bolts for fog light; extract light itself then unplug electrical connector, release retaining clip and take out bulb(s) from fog light housing. Carefully pry fog lamps away from front bumper fascia if they belong to 1999-2000 Pathfinder cars until you see access path to fog lamp's bulb inside. In case of 1996 through 1998 Pathfinders unscrew holding fastener, withdraw whole lighting assembly after disengagement electrical plug was removed; finally we have tear apart lamp retainer too because our hands did not fit through hole where would be bulb. As regards all other cars, fog light lens clips can be detached from both sides after lens is taken out; then we need to disconnect electrical plug and unfasten retaining spring before removing bulb from such lens. In case of need remove nut that secures fog lamp to retaining bracket.

Twist the bulb holder counterclockwise and pull it out; the headlight bulbs can be reached once the inner fender liner is detached and pulled back.
