Nissan 13020-F4520 Camshaft Assembly

To remove the lifters, start by removing the valve cover and rocker arm shaft assemblies. Secure the lifters with rubber bands to prevent them from falling out of the guides. Remove the lifter guide assembly and then remove the lifters from the bores one at a time, keeping them in order. Avoid laying the lifters on their side or upside down to prevent air from becoming trapped inside.

To install the camshafts, lubricate the bearing journals and lobes with moly-based engine assembly lube and carefully install them in the cylinder head. Install the camshaft thrust plate and retaining bolt, and check the camshaft endplay. If the endplay is outside the specified range, replace the thrust plate. Install the camshaft oil seal and complete the cylinder head assembly.
