Nissan 13070-40F04 Chain Tension

Timing chain adjustment may be necessary due to chain stretch. To adjust, turn the crankshaft to TDC, and if the camshaft sprocket location notch is left of the oblong groove on the camshaft retaining plate, indicating chain stretch, proceed with adjustment. Remove the camshaft sprocket and chain, then reinstall them with the locating dowel on the camshaft in a different hole (No. 2 or 3) of the sprocket. Align the timing marks on the chain and sprocket, and adjust by 4° of crankshaft rotation for each mark. Recheck valve timing, and if the notch cannot be brought to the right of the groove, replace the timing chain if worn beyond repair.
