    Q:
How to Replace and Install Fuel Injectors and Fuel Rail in the Nissan 350Z? Posted by Customer
    A:
Before you start, take off the engine cover and fuel tank filler cap on your 350Z to let the pressure inside the fuel tank escape. First step: winds up your vehicle windows while taking off the negative battery cable. First take out the engine coolant and air intake duct. Then remove the intake manifold plenum. Pull off the fuel supply tube and damping device from their mounting place, while being careful to gather up any fuel that spills out and putting in a fresh O-ring to seal the connection. Unplug and take off all fuel injector electrical wires, remove the injector harness clamps, and clean dirt buildup from around the fuel injectors. Cap the fuel line, then carefully shake the rail and injectors to the side until they're loose. Take all pieces out as one piece. Check the fuel rail mounting bolt spacers for damage, then replace any worn ones. Take the fuel rail and injectors as one unit, flip it upside down on a neat work table, remove injectors from the rail, throw away the used O-rings, and put in fresh ones that you've washed in clean engine oil. There is no necessary dismantling of the pulsation damper or fuel sub-tube. Simply eliminate any failed O-rings and reinstall fresh ones if you need to extract the fuel rail or your fuel rails require replacement. Placing injectors in new oil-coated O-rings, then pushing them onto injectors with clips to hold them in place. Clean the engine block intake manifold bays where the fuel injectors go, put in special spacer washers, put the fuel injectors into place, and press them onto the engine block until they are fully in position. Put on a new O-ring, reconnect the fuel line, and destroy its clamping support with fingertightening bolts. We complete this step by removing everything and returning it to its original configured position. Instead of starting the engine, put the ignition key into the ON position to activate the fuel pump and inject fuel pressure into the lines; turn off the ignition, do this two or three times, and make sure no fuel is leaking.

    Q:
How can the injectors be freed from the fuel rail for the 2008 Nissan Murano? Posted by Customer
    A:
Pull off the retainer with a pair of pliers, then pull the injector straight out of its bore in the fuel rail.
