    Q:
How to remove and install a rear axle shaft on Nissan Armada? Posted by Customer
    A:
Wheel nuts need loosening first. Then lift the back of the vehicle, place it on jackstands under frame rails, and securely lock it into place. Also block the front wheels until joined. Use jackstands under the front wheels to stop the car from sliding off when you put the back wheels up. Take off both rear wheels first, then remove and put aside the spare tire. Hold the driveaxles' end in place by unbolting them from the differential and tying them down with wire underneath the car. Secure the driveshaft safely out of your work area by tying it to any underbody part with a wire. Drain the differential lubricant. Put your jack under the rear part that houses the differential. Unplug the vent hose where it connects to the differential housing, and secure it away before working. Take out the rear fasteners that hold the differential in place, then disconnect the ones at the front of the differential. Then, lower it down carefully. Installation is the reverse of removal. Make sure you bolt the U-joint tight, along with the driveaxle flange and rear differential border bolts properly. Keep the stabilizer bar connecting nuts properly tightened according to specifications.

    Q:
How to remove and install the axle shaft on the 4WD Nissan Armada? Posted by Customer
    A:
Loosen the wheel lug nuts, pry off the hub cover and remove the cotter pin from the Axle Shaft/hub nut, then use a breaker bar and a socket to loosen the Axle Shaft/hub nut. Raise the front/rear of the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. Remove the front/rear wheel(s). Disconnect the ABS wheel sensor harness at the hub and wire it out of the way. Remove the Axle Shaft/hub nut. Remove the coil spring/shock absorber assembly. Disconnect the upper balljoint from the upper control arm. Pull the steering knuckle outward enough for the splines of the Axle Shaft to clear the knuckle. Unbolt the end of the Axle Shaft from the front/rear differential flange. Installation is the reverse of removal. Tighten the Axle Shaft flange bolts to the torque. Install the wheel and lug nuts. Lower the vehicle and tighten the lug nuts to the torque. Tighten the Axle Shaft/hub nut to the torque.
