    Q:
How to remove and install the rear Steering Knuckle on Nissan Maxima? Posted by Customer
    A:
Loosen the rear wheel lug nuts and raise the rear of the vehicle, supporting it securely on jack stands while blocking the front wheels to prevent rolling. Remove the wheel, then on models with rear disc brakes, take off the caliper and disc. Next, remove the hub and bearing assembly, followed by the brake backing plate. For models equipped with ABS, remove the rear wheel sensor. Support the lower control arm with a floor jack positioned under the coil spring pocket, ensuring the jack remains in place throughout the procedure. Detach the radius rod from the steering knuckle, then disconnect the front lower and rear lower suspension arms from the steering knuckle, followed by the upper suspension arm. Disconnect the lower shock mounting bolt and nut from the steering knuckle, and then remove the steering knuckle from the vehicle. Installation is the reverse of removal, ensuring all fasteners are tightened to the specified torque.
