Nissan 90606-01G01 Tailgate Handle

By opening the tailgate, you will have to unscrew the screws of the tailgate access cover and then remove it. After that, move around the plastic clips which holds the control rods from underneath them, lifting these rods off the handle. During this process, we need to remove the control rods and the handle mounting bolts on its end. For you to take off handle, you must simply release tailgate by taking off its bolts. Thereafter, detach it from inside of tailgate alongside central locking mechanism through withdrawing bolts and yanking away rod connected to it. That is how one goes about removing a tailgate latch by lifting out with control rod. Mounting is done as in removal above. Tighten all fasteners securely enough after reinstallation.

First, detach the electrical connector from the lock cylinder, if your vehicle is equipped with one. Then, using a screwdriver or a pair of pliers, pry the lock cylinder retaining clip off the lock. Pull the lock outward to disengage it from the door and the lock cylinder control rod. On some models, you may also need to disengage the clip securing the control rod to the lock cylinder.
