Nissan 43202-JG21B Hub Assembly Rear

The rear hub bearings are integral with the rear hubs and cannot be renewed independently; if renewal is necessary, the complete hub assembly must be replaced. Begin by chocking the front wheels, jacking up the rear of the vehicle, and securely supporting it on axle stands. Remove the appropriate rear roadwheel and fully release the handbrake. Next, take out the handbrake shoes from inside the rear brake disc, unbolt the handbrake cable, and withdraw it from the lower part of the brake backplate. Remove the wheel speed sensor from the rear of the hub, then undo the four mounting bolts at the rear of the hub assembly and withdraw the hub complete with backplate from the trailing arm. Detach the backplate from the old hub/bearing and fit it to the new one, ensuring to thoroughly clean the backplate and trailing arm before sliding the new hub assembly and backplate into position. Make sure the two handbrake shoe retaining pins are in place in the backplate before refitting. Fit the hub assembly to the trailing arm and tighten the four retaining bolts to the specified torque. Check that the hub spins freely, then refit the handbrake shoes and brake disc. Finally, reattach the ABS wheel speed sensor and tighten its retaining bolt to the specified torque, refit the roadwheel(s), lower the vehicle to the ground, and tighten to the specified torque setting.

Once the hub/bearing is removed, take off the brake disc back plate, noting its fitted position.

Loosen the rear wheel lug nuts, then raise the rear of the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands before removing the wheel.
