Nissan 17042-1W700 Fuel Pump Assembly

Relieve the fuel pressure. Pathfinder models need seat removal and access cover removal of the fuel pump/fuel level sending unit by unscrewing the rear seat screws. First remove the electrical connector from the fuel pump/sending unit assembly before disconnecting the tank shield if present. Set both components aside with the cover and wiring harness. To proceed with this task first remove the screws holding the fuel pump/sending unit and separate the fuel feed line and return lines from their mounting points. You should press the tabs on quick-connect fittings to remove the fuel lines from the fuel tank unit. Move the fuel pump/sending unit assembly out from the tank while maintaining the fuel level sending arm and float in safe condition. Begin by disconnecting the fuel pump electrical connector followed by disconnection of the fuel hose from the fuel pump fitting. Activation of the locking pawl lets you detach the fuel pump and bracket from the fuel level sending unit. Inspection of the strainer should be done for any signs of contamination before getting a new one. To install the fuel pump onto the sending unit assembly follow the steps of removal in reverse order. Clear all dust and grime from both the fuel pump mounting flange and tank mounting surface along with the seal ring groove. Slide a fresh O-ring over the fuel tank hole before inserting the fuel pump/sending unit assembly inside. Follow the original lining for the fuel lines before tightening all screws securing the fuel pump/sending unit assembly and reattach the fuel lines. Attachment of the electrical connector must be performed before installing the access cover and rear seat on Pathfinder models.
