    How do you install the IVT solenoid on Nissan Altima? Posted by Customer
    A:
    A particular solenoid called the IVT is attached to the chain cover top which is situated on the upper part of the time chain cover behind the IVT housing. Similarly, installation of a control solenoid for Intake valve timing takes place at the back of IVT housing located on top front side of time chain cover. The V6 engine has two IVT solenoid valves. This component directs oil into intake camshaft actuator for changing intake camshaft timing. The PCM instructs it. Four-cylinder models are supported from below using a floor jack that has a block of wood on it, and then remove right upper engine mount assembly. Note: Some models can allow one to work around their engine mounts. Remove mounting bolt from IVT solenoid valve and thereafter remove it. Install in reverse order of removal. Replace 0-ring (if used) with a new one.
