How to replace a rear crankshaft seal on 2005 Nissan Maxima with DOHC engine?

The transaxle must be removed from the vehicle for this procedure. Carefully pry the old Crankshaft Seal out of the retainer with a seal removal tool or screwdriver. Apply multi-purpose grease to the crankshaft seal journal and the lip of the new Crankshaft Seal. Preferably, a seal installation tool should be used to press the new Crankshaft Seal into place. If the proper seal installation tool is unavailable, use a large socket, section of pipe, or a blunt tool to carefully drive the new Crankshaft Seal into place. The lip is stiff, so work it onto the seal journal of the crankshaft without rushing, as this may damage the seal. Install the Crankshaft Seal squarely and only until flush with the back of the seal plate, no further. The remaining steps are the reverse of removal.
