Nissan 350Z A/C Accumulator Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to Remove and Install an Air Conditioning Receiver-Drier in Nissan 350Z?
    A:
Have the air conditioning system discharged by a dealer service department or an automotive air conditioning shop before proceeding. Remove the front grill, on all models except 2007 and later 3502 and G35 Sedans, remove the horn near the A/C Accumulator and the ambient air sensor bracket. Thoroughly clean the area around the line fittings at the bottom of the A/C Accumulator and then remove the line fitting retainer bolt. Remove the A/C Accumulator mounting bracket fastener and pull the A/C Accumulator directly up from the line fittings at the condenser. Remove the 0-ring seals and discard them. Plug all open fittings to prevent entry of dirt and moisture. Using new 0-ring seals, install the A/C Accumulator into the fittings at the condenser. If a new A/C Accumulator is being installed, add 0.3 oz (10 ml) of new refrigerant oil (a type designated as compatible with R-134a refrigerant) to the new unit. The remainder of installation is the reverse of removal. Take the vehicle back to the shop that discharged it. Have the air conditioning system evacuated, charged and leak tested.
