Nissan 350Z Brake Pedal

The power to slow or stop a sports vehicle comes from the Nissan 350Z Brake Pedal, which transforms a simple push of the driver's foot into hydraulic force. In turn, the hydraulic force grips the wheel brakes. Every Brake Pedal press compresses the master cylinder, which builds sufficient pressure that tells the calipers to clamp. So, responsive stopping always starts with a firm, well-shaped Brake Pedal. After a while, the ribbed rubber surface can wear smooth, removing the traction grooves meant to keep your shoe from sliding, especially when soles are damp, and that loss of grip can delay reaction time during a panic stop. Replacing a worn-out Brake Pedal will give the cabin a fresh appearance and restore the texture to help regulate pressure effectively. The early 350Z models rely on a traditional full-rubber pad while many later 350Z models receive a sportier metal-trimmed version that is less affected by hardening and wear. However, as both are attached to the same robust arm, feel remains familiar. As the mileage rises on the vehicle, checking the condition of the Brake Pedal for indications of a shiny spot or hardened rubber gives a quick clue to any Nissan owner that it is time for renewal. This kit is made to original Nissan specification. As a result, the new Brake Pedal feels as sharp as the original.

Nissan 350Z Brake Pedal Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to Adjust Brake Pedal Height and Free Play in a Nissan 350Z?
    A:
Remove the brake light and speed control switches. Peel back the carpet and insulator pad and measure the distance from the top of the pad to the floor with the brake pedal fully released. Loosen the pushrod locknut just in front of the power brake booster clevis. Turn the booster pushrod until the pedal height is correct, tighten the locknut, press down lightly on the brake pedal, and measure the distance that it moves freely before resistance is felt. With the engine running, press the brake pedal fully and measure the pedal pad-to-floor distance.
