It is important to occasionally inspect the windshield wiper and blade assembly for damages, loose parts and cracked or worn blade elements. A film of road grime can accumulate on the blades thus making them inefficient necessitating regular cleaning with a solution of mild detergent. When there are cracks, signs of wear and tear or if they do not clean properly, it is time to buy new ones. Raise the arm assembly off the glass for clearance, press down on the release tab and then push towards the motor; at this point, slide the whole assembly out of that hook at one end of the arm. Press in the release tab and move down back towards the motor. Connect a new wiper to an arm. Clicking noise gives us assurance that it is firmly connected.
