To check the transmission mount, first raise the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands, ensuring that on Armada models with a rear auto-leveling suspension, the ignition key is turned to the OFF position before lifting. Next, insert a large screwdriver or prybar into the space between the transmission extension housing and the crossmember, attempting to pry the transmission up slightly; it should not move much at all, indicating the mount is intact. If the mount is cracked or torn, it needs replacement. To replace the mount, support the transmission with a floor jack, using a block of wood on the jack head for cushioning. Remove the fasteners that attach the mount to both the crossmember and the transmission, ensuring the weight of the transmission is supported on the jack. After removing the upper two mount-to-transmission bolts, take out the mount-to-crossmember bolts and raise the transmission slightly to create space for mount removal. Finally, install the new mount by reversing the removal steps, ensuring all nuts and bolts are tightened securely.
