Brake Discs. The thickness of the lining material of the shoes should be measured. Replace shoes if the lining has worn down to 0.5mm or less. Examine the drum section of disc for scoring, grooves or heat crack damages. If these symptoms are present or drum is worn beyond limits, replace the disc. Apply brake system cleaner on and run water over all brake parts so that they get washed properly. Refer to the pictures provided when replacing a brake shoe. It is important to follow a sequence as well as read captions under each picture thoroughly. One side should always be worked on at a time while using the other side as reference whenever necessary. The rear parking brake shoes will need adjustment. Place the caliper and brake disc in position and tighten all bolts according to torque specifications provided by manufacturer's manual. This has been done as shown in order to achieve maximum fastening results by tightening bolt torque values properly . After this, lower vehicle with wheels still off ground then fit lug nuts tightly before performing lastly adjustments for wheel lug nuts applied through proper torque readings for them . Finally, test parking brake operation and adjust again if required.
