  Below are the instructions on replacing the lock for the tailgate,The first step is to first disconnect the battery negative terminal. For the lock, first, the interior trim panel of the tailgate has to be withdrawn, then three lock securing bolts have to be unscrewed and the lock has to be pulled out of this place with the further disconnection of the wiring connector. Recovery entails a reversal of all removed and hence a check on the fastening and release of the tailgate; if alignment is required, loosen the lock retaining bolts then correct the position of the lock before refastening it tight. For the tailgate lock striker, take off the lower trim panel very gently, identify the position of the striker plate, remove the two screws that are used to fix it, and finally, pull out the lock striker.
