The Door Lock for the Nissan Murano secures the door to the body of your vehicle. In doing so, the cabin remains protected and the door remains closed while driving. The door's lock is dependent on a latch with a clasp that engages a striker mounted on the jamb. The exterior handle cannot disengage this clasp when the Door Lock is engaged either by the key cylinder or the interior knob. The latch has a direct mechanical connection to the knob and cylinder through rods. In vehicles that have a power feature, an electric actuator can move the same linkage.
