How is the Coolant Temperature Sensor installed and removed on Nissan Rogue?

The ECT sensor is mounted in the water outlet, where the upper radiator hoses is connected to the engine, at the left (driver's) side of the engine. Drain some engine coolant to minimize coolant spillage. Disconnect the electrical connector from the ECT sensor. Unscrew the sensor from the engine and discard the sealing washer (a new one should be used). Installation is the reverse of removal. Refill the cooling system.

The Nissan Rogue Coolant Temperature Sensor measures the intensity of engine coolant temperature and transmits the information to the engine control module to ensure that the important systems operate properly. The Coolant Temperature Sensor is threaded directly into a coolant passage where it is exposed to the moving coolant to give precise real-time readings. The sensor is positioned at the inside and it is an NTC thermistor, where the resistance decreases with temperature.
