Earlier models from 2013 and earlier years, the latter, Rogue Select-2014 and following ones, use intake valve timing solenoid (IVT). All other models from 2013 and earlier and Excluding Rogue Select 2014 and later ones have their solenoids as an Intake Valve Timing Intermediate Lock Control Solenoid, the Intake Valve Liming (IVT) Control Solenoid Valve and the Exhaust Valve Timing (EVT) Solenoid. The solenoid is located in the upper part of the timing chain cover on the control cover which is bolted to the timing chain cover. These solenoids actually direct oil to either intake camshaft actuator or exhaust camshaft actuator to control or vary the input or output camshaft timing. To remove it: Remove mounting bolt; Pull out solenoid valve afterwards. The IVT control solenoid valve is located on top of control cover, at front of timing chain cover similar to EVT control solenoid. The removal process uses a different procedure than that used during installation. If necessary, replace O-ring with new one.
