Another switch called the ASCD or cancel control switch is mounted on a bracket close to the top of the
Brake Pedal; this switch is used to cancel cruise control, and to provide the brake light circuit when the brake pedal is pressed. To test the brake light switch, look if the brake lamps are on when the brake is depressed and off when the brake is released. If brake lights do not illuminate or if the cruise control does not turn off, check on the brake pedal whether it is correctly installed or not, then check on the switch and adjust it if necessary. To adjust, you have to turn the switch anti-clockwise by 45 degrees, please the brake pedal back while holding it in position, and later push the switch to its bracket until the threaded portion rests against the stop. For replacement, pull the electrical connector backward then turn it anti-clockwise 45 degrees and take it off from the switch. After the installation, reverse the aforementioned process, and then set the brake pedal height and the switch.
