Several electrical accessories in the vehicle, such as the fuel injection system,
Horns, starter, and fog lamps, use relays to transmit the electrical signal to the component. Relays operate by using a low-current circuit to open and close a high-current circuit. If a relay is defective, the associated component will not function properly. Most relays are mounted in the engine compartment and interior fuse/relay boxes, with the interior fuse box located at the left side of the instrument panel behind the fuse panel cover. The engine compartment fuse/relay box, also known as the Intelligent Power Distribution Module, is situated along the left side of the engine compartment. To access the cover, depress the tabs and lift upwards, and to remove the cover from the IPDM, depress the tabs.
