How to disconnect the negative battery cable and remove the alternator on Nissan 300ZX?

To prevent the car from power flowing to its electrical system, disconnect the negative battery cable and put it aside somewhere so that it would not accidentally touch the battery's negative terminal. Thereafter, alternator drivebelt is removed. Use a jack stand so as to lift up the vehicle and support it there. Sway bar-to-body brackets are removed while letting sway bar remain hanging. Furthermore, splash shield retaining bolts and the shield itself are eliminated. At the back of the alternator, take off a single attachment bolt that secure an alternator to mounting bracket. On top of that there are two front alternator retaining bolts which should be removed. Reverse around alternator then squeeze on the electrical connector and push it out of the same place where it was plugged in at first. Apart from this simply pull apart capacitor to unplug it. Take away two retention screws along with connected wires. In order to install, just do what has been described above but only in reverse mode.
