Nissan 300ZX Alternator
The Nissan 300ZX Alternator is applied to convert the engine's mechanical energy for the battery and other electronic devices. The Nissan Alternator's two-piece cast aluminum shell encases a stationary stator and a rotor mounted on the shaft. The belt turns the pulley connected to the crankshaft, making the rotor spin. As the rotor moves through the stator windings, it produces AC, and its internal diodes and heat sinks instantly change the AC to DC, which is applied for charging the battery and supplying the system. The 300ZX electrical system has a cooling fan on the same shaft. This fan helps prevent overheating. An Alternator with a Nissan nameplate maintains voltage levels. This is done by varying field current under the control of an internal regulator. Therefore, undercharging and overcharging are avoided. Front and rear bearings steady the shaft, with the rear section having brushes, the rectifier assembly, and the regulator circuitry. Located at the front of the engine bay, this Alternator powers lighting, ignition, and components so that every Nissan 300ZX is electrically stable whenever the engine is running. - Q: How to disconnect the negative battery cable and remove the alternator on Nissan 300ZX?A:To prevent the car from power flowing to its electrical system, disconnect the negative battery cable and put it aside somewhere so that it would not accidentally touch the battery's negative terminal. Thereafter, alternator drivebelt is removed. Use a jack stand so as to lift up the vehicle and support it there. Sway bar-to-body brackets are removed while letting sway bar remain hanging. Furthermore, splash shield retaining bolts and the shield itself are eliminated. At the back of the alternator, take off a single attachment bolt that secure an alternator to mounting bracket. On top of that there are two front alternator retaining bolts which should be removed. Reverse around alternator then squeeze on the electrical connector and push it out of the same place where it was plugged in at first. Apart from this simply pull apart capacitor to unplug it. Take away two retention screws along with connected wires. In order to install, just do what has been described above but only in reverse mode.
