On every six months the flexible hoses, which remain connected between the steel brake lines and the calipers need to be checked for cracks, outer covering abrasion, leaks, blisters and similar signs of damages as these are some of the brake system components which experience more stress and therefore need extensive scrutiny. Employing a lit lamp and a mirror can be of immense help when conducting a thorough check of the ear. Any of the hoses that seem to be in a bad shape should be replaced with a new hose. Brake lines that are pre-assembled can be purchased from the dealer's parts departments, auto parts stores; however, no circumstance should use copper or aluminum hoses. Regarding the brake line, when fitting, there should be at least 0.75 inches or 19 mm of space between the line and any moving/vibrating element; do not forget to bleed the brakes after fitting the line.
