Disconnect the negative cable at the battery and place the cable out of the way so it cannot accidentally come in contact with the negative terminal of the battery, as this would once again allow power into the electrical system of the vehicle. Next, disconnect the electrical connector by pulling it apart. Then, remove the upper and lower vacuum hoses from the valve. After that, remove the two EGR control solenoid valve retaining screws. Remember, you need to remove the two remaining screws to remove the EGR control solenoid valve. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedures.
