To check the PCV valve, one has to pull off the ventilation hose with the help of the clamp; as the engine is running, appropriate function will produce a hissing sound. Or touching lips with the end of the valve, the finger should feel a strong vacuum if everything is arranged with the valve. For replacement, first, disconnect the hose and then unscrew the valve from the intake manifold; and then screw the new valve in the manifold end and reconnect the hose and do not forget to tight the hose clamp.
