Open the hood and locate the headlight vertical adjusting screw by finding the adjuster access hole above the rear part of the headlight housing in the radiator core support; insert a Phillips screwdriver into the hole to engage it with the adjuster wheel for each headlight in the upper radiator cross member, noting that each headlight has a vertical adjustment screw without horizontal adjustment screws. To adjust the headlights, the simplest method involves using an open area with a blank wall and a level floor. Position masking tape vertically on the wall in alignment with the vehicle center line and the center lines of both headlights, and also position a horizontal tape line in relation to the center line of the headlights, which may be easier with the vehicle parked just a few inches away. Ensure the vehicle is parked 25 feet from the wall, sitting level, with a full gas tank and no unusually heavy load. The high intensity zone should be vertically centered with the exact center, approximately three inches below the horizontal line. It is advisable to have the headlights adjusted by a qualified technician at the earliest opportunity.
