To work on 350Z cars, first lower the windows and take the engine's ground wire out of its spot. In the left corner of every instrument panel sits several important vehicle switches: the trunk release, VDC OFF, fuel filler lid opener (350Z only), and soft top controls (350Z Roadsters only). Take off the knee bolster panel, then disconnect the electric wires from each switch. Press the two release tabs behind the knee bolster trim panel, slide the switch through that side, then push it out of the front opening in the knee bolster. Remove your car switch, but reverse the process to put it back on - be sure it locks in securely. To adjust the side mirror, you need to take off the panel above the steering wheel that has the instruments on it. There's a connector here you have to disconnect before moving the mirror adjustment switch. Pull the mirror adjustment switch out from its holder on the
Instrument Cluster using the screws; get the switch in reverse order when reinstalling. To remove the hazard flasher switch, lift the center console and disconnect its electrical connector by pressing in the release tab and pulling it away from the switch. To take off the hazard switch, unscrew the mounting screws and lift it out. To put it back, do the opposite. For either of the front seat's heated seats, remove the center console and pull off the electrical connector by pushing down a small release tab and separating the two halves. Undo the two brackets that hold the switch in place, on either side. After pulling the brackets away gently, you can take out the switch. Installation follows the exact opposite steps. Press the glove box release button on the inside of the car, open the box, and loosen the trunk lid opener switch. Push the electrical release, then pull the connector apart. Behavior during reassembly should be the opposite of how you took it out.
