How to remove and install a steering wheel, including the airbag module and electrical connections on Nissan Altima?

To retract the steering wheel, you first need to sever the connection of the cable with the negative terminal of the battery. Subsequently, take off the side covers of the steering wheel and unscrew the airbag screws. Take off the cover of the air bag module by twisting and pull it and then detach the electrical connectors from the air bag, the lock button of each connector is to be flipped with the help of a small screw driver. Lastly, remove the second electrical connector and set the air bag module to the side. Loosen, and if required unbolt, the steering wheel retaining nut and identify the correlation of the steering wheel to the shaft, and apply a new set of reference marks, if required. Last check that air bag circuit is energized now turn the key from off to On or Start, the "AIR BAG" warning light should come on for several seconds and then go off.
