How to remove and install the Rear window regulator on Nissan Titan?

To remove the window glass assembly, start by carefully prying off the rear window trim with a trim tool, then disconnect the electrical connections after removing the overhead console. Next, take out the sun visors by removing their mounting screws, followed by the upper handle fasteners if equipped. Remove the striker cover and fasteners, then take out the strikers if present. Disconnect the electrical connection after removing the rear dome lamp, and gently pull down the rear headliner while disconnecting the clips. Use a trim tool to pry out the rear side trim panel and remove it, then take out the rear seat. Remove the rear panel mounting nuts and plastic push pin fasteners, followed by the watershield. Lower the window and take out the window glass to regulator mounting bolts, then raise the window by hand and tape it into place before disconnecting the rear window defogger connection. Remove the rear window mounting nuts all around the window and pull the assembly out starting from the top at an angle. For installation, clean the window opening and apply new butyl seal to the window assembly, then lift it into place, engaging the bottom clips and securely tightening the mounting nuts. The remainder of the installation follows the reverse order of removal. To remove the window regulator, first take out the rear window assembly, then disconnect the power window motor/regulator electrical connections and remove the mounting fasteners to take out the regulator and motor assembly. For installation, place the regulator and motor assembly into the opening, lower it, connect the electrical connections, and install the mounting fasteners securely, with the installation also following the reverse order of removal. To reset the limit switch, raise the glass to the top of the channel, locate the power window motor reset switch, press and hold it while lowering the glass to the bottom, then release the switch. Ensure the reset switch has returned to its original position, and if not, pull it out before raising the window to the top.

About Nissan Window Regulator

A window regulator, also known as an actuator, is the mechanism that physically moves a car window up and down. A manual Nissan window regulator is hand powered and requires someone to crank it, while one for a powered window has an electric motor to do the work instead. A faulty or damaged regulator will prevent the glass from properly raising or lowering, especially for powered windows.
