The steering lock/ignition switch/warning buzzer switch assembly is fixed to the
Steering Column using special screws/head bolt that gets sheared once the assembly is fixed in place to require drilling of the screws or use appropriate tool to remove the same. The ignition switch and warning switch are lined up for replacement without the removal of the complete assembly, though the ignition switch is situated at the back while the warning switch is on side of the assembly. First, pull out the negative battery terminal before removing the
Steering Wheel, the cover of the steering column and the combination switch. Next, remove the switch wiring and if the steering wheel is too high lower it to a proper level. Now apply a drill or any other proper tool and remove the self-shear screws and take the steering lock off from the column. When it comes to installation, fit screws or new self-shear bolts on the column of the steering lock where the thickness of bolt can shear off the head. Subsequently, lift and immobilize the steering column and then refit the combination switch, column cover(s) and the wheel in that order, then reengage the battery's negative terminal.
