Nissan 350Z Knock Sensor

The Nissan 350Z Knock Sensor enhances the performance for the Nissan 350Z series of cars including lots of models with year of production between 2002 and 2009. This highly developed piezoelectric element is especially required to monitor a certain engine knock, which originates in the wrong ignition timeliness. The Knock Sensor transmits real-time signals to the powertrain control module (PCM) to allow for precise adjustments of ignition timing that in turn helps reduce the intensity of detonation and aids in having the engine run efficiently. This is especially useful on standard octane unleaded fuels for it enables the Nissan 350Z to run nearly at the knock limit. This is due to the Knock Sensor since it has the effect of continually retarding, then slowly adding more advance to ignition timing which is beneficial in both increasing the life of the engine and also the performance. Specially, the Knock Sensor fits perfectly to the version of Nissan 350Z ranging from the basic production, the enthusiast to the performance production. It is also reliable and performs well in the automotive market and it's backed up by its capabilities for individual cylinder controls and boost pressure. In general, the Nissan 350Z Knock Sensor can be highlighted as a special inclusion that improves not only the performance of the automobile engine but also plays an important role in the safety and driving of the Nissan 350Z thus making a special place in the hearts of sports car lovers.

Nissan 350Z Knock Sensor Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: Where is the knock sensor located and how do you replace it on Nissan 350Z?
    A:
At the peak of the block, in the dingle between the heads of cylinders and right under the manifold, we find the knock sensor. In 2007 and beyond G35 Sedans as well as 350Z models, there are two knock sensors which are positioned in this same region. First, remove the intake manifold plenum assembly to have it replaced. Then, remove the fuel rail along with fuel injector assembly. After that removed is intake manifold itself. Disconnect electrical connector from knock sensor. To take out a knock sensor, push down on release tab and unplug an electrical connector, then get rid of a fixation screw for a knock sensor bolt and take a sensor out of a cylinder block. Get rid of a fixture screw for mounting bolts, then remove mounting bolts themselves. Installation is opposite to removals. Make sure you tighten down the pinch bolt for a knock sensor securely so as to create that desired torque value only when needed will there be correct tightness.
