Using a dial indicator, check for runout by placing it near the outer edge of a disc and rotating it. The gauge reading should not exceed the specified runout limit. If it does, refinish the disc. It is recommended to resurface discs whenever brake pads are replaced. Otherwise, remove any glazed finish with sandpaper or other abrasive material like emery cloth etc. Measure disk thickness with micrometer or vernier calliper gauge as appropriate.
