In order to substitute the exhaust manifold, begin with the loosening of the cable at the negative terminal of both vehicles. Lock the rear wheels, pull the parking brake, remove the right front wheel and to do this: wheelchair the tires, unscrew the lug nuts of the right front wheel, lift the front of the car and put it on special stands. Next, unbolt the engine splash shields and the right inner fender splash shield, and then unbolt the drivebelt. Unplug the electrical connector of the oxygen sensor and also, remove the heat shield over the exhaust manifold. Remove the exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifold, it is not very easy so it would need penetrating oil to loosen the bolts. Pull off the exhaust manifold brace, and then unbolt the manifold and gasket on the same manner and sequence you used when tightening the nuts. To install, first remove deposits on the surfaces of the exhaust manifold and the
Cylinder Head through the use of a scraper, fit the new gasket over the studs on the cylinder head and then fit the manifold while forcing the mounting nuts on the studs. Afterwards, use a torque wrench to tighten the nuts in the sequence same as sequence used to remove the nuts to the specific torque as described by the manufacturer, then revert the order of removal to install all the nuts secure the exhaust pipe fasteners using anti-seize lubricant. Last but not the least, connect the battery and do the relevant relearn operations.
