When replacing brake lines, ensure the use of correct steel brake lines and avoid copper tubing for brake system components. Prefabricated brake lines with flared tube ends and fittings are available and should be bent to the appropriate shapes using a tubing bender. After installation, verify proper support and clearance for the new line, check the master cylinder fluid level, add fluid as needed, bleed the brake system, and thoroughly test the brakes before driving in traffic.
