This is definitely a two-man job. Even stripped of all its components, the instrument panel, or dashboard, is fairly heavy; do NOT attempt to lift it out of the vehicle by yourself. Begin by disconnecting the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. Move the front seats as far back as they will go, as removing the seats will provide more working room. Next, remove the center console, steering wheel, steering column covers, and all dashboard trim panels. Proceed to remove all dashboard-mounted speakers, the instrument cluster, the heater and air conditioning control unit, the audio unit, and the display screen from behind the center vent unit. Disconnect the wiring from the passenger's airbag module and remove the module's mounting bolt, noting that all electrical connectors for airbag harnesses are bright yellow. Clearly label and disconnect all electrical connectors in the dashboard area, detaching all wiring harnesses from the dash, while keeping in mind that you might not be able to reach every harness clip. Remove all eight instrument panel mounting screws, which include screws located behind the instrument cluster, at both ends of the instrument panel, in the glove box area, and on both sides of the tunnel. With the help of an assistant, lift the instrument panel back just far enough to access and disconnect any remaining wiring harnesses or other components, then carefully remove the instrument panel through the passenger's door opening. Installation is the reverse of removal, and remember to reconnect the battery and perform the necessary re-learn procedures.
