Before working on the rear ABS Sensor for 240SX models, lift and stabilize your car safely while having both wheels off. Take the sensor connector plug loose, detach the mounting brackets, and unscrew the sensor mounting bolts. To disconnect the rear wheel sensor connections, get out the sensor from its position next to the differential and slide off the brackets holding the sensor to its wiring. To set up the new sensor, place its brackets onto it, put the sensor in place, use a go/no-go gauge to measure and fine-tune sensor-to-rotor proximity within 0.0138-0.0246 inches (0.035-0.625 mm). Twist the mounting bolts to 13-20 ft.lbs. Then, put on the sensor mounting brackets, keep the sensor wiring in the correct path, plug in the sensor harness connector, place the rear wheels back, and let the car down. Before putting the rear wheel sensor in place, use a feeler gauge to measure how far the sensor sits from the rotor teeth. First loosen the sensor mounting bolts, move the sensor until you get the right clearance amount, and torque the sensor bolts to 13-20 foot-pounds for good hold.
