Safe up and support the front of the car, detach the wheels, and take them off the vehicle. Turn off the power steering hose from the power Rack And Pinion before you plug all remaining hoses. This stops liquid from draining out. Peel off the
Steering Knuckle rod ends with proper tools. Carefully take down the lower steering joint assembly while following your matchmarks to guide correct reassembly later on, from the steering gear pinion. Unattach the steering gear and its linkages, and then put in your exhaust system. Reattach the power steering hoses to their place on the power steering gear, and use a 17-22 ft. lb. torque wrench to screw in the bolt connecting the shaft to the gear assembly. Look at the fluid level, and add more as needed, after pumping air out of the system. Test driving the engine lets you see if any fluid leaks occur and ensures the system works well before you start driving. Also check the front alignment if needed. While putting the lower steering joint onto the steering gear, straighten the front wheels first. Then insert the joint until both wheels and slot line up.
